Librarian is one of the best asset of any kind of organisation


Every day we attempt to classify and organize or catalog or index the article or thing either on wardrobe or cupboard for access and reuse. Same basic tenants of day to day life are being evolved through scientific process and built a methodology to organize wealth of knowledge. 

In the branch of Philosophy of Library and Information Science, the purpose of cataloging and classifying is to organize information and data resources to make it easier to access and retrieve. 

In the advent of Information Communication technology, Organisation has produced numerous content and digital asset. Content is sometimes referred to as media, and is a broad term that contains many types of digital files (ex:PDF, image, audio, video etc.). Enterprise has been moved from folder structure to web application based content management system along with Digital Asset Management System. 

Content management system is software used to create, manage, and publish content. Examples: Word Press, Drupal and Digital asset management system is designed to organize digital assets and managing video, photographs, and other rich media content. – i.e. valuable media files such as logos, presentations or other brand assets . 

Managing and Organizing these digital content and asset is one of the challenging task and require economic tools to reduce the operation cost. 

Taxonomy is one of the method deploy on these system to organize and classify these kind of asset by using controlled vocabulary. 

Librarian is one of the best asset of any kind of organisation and being utilized in managing content on digital environment because of their knowledge and practice skill.

Knowledge Management Standard ISO 30401 Being an Information and Knowledge Management practitioner I received an email regarding ISO Standard for Knowledge Management and available for public feedback in the last month of 2017.  I did desk research along with literature review and summarize my opinion as it is more management oriented ,whereas epistemology of KM is broad it cover all aspect of information optimisation –behaviour,archive,record,content,technology,practice,learned lesson etc. .
